By accessing our website, enrolling in a course, or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. Our Services

Better Surgery offers access to individual, expert-led online courses. Courses may include:

  • Educational video content

  • Downloadable resources and exercise plans

  • Optional printed materials or booklets

Courses are delivered primarily through the Teachable platform. Some videos may be hosted via third-party services such as YouTube.

All content is provided for educational purposes only.

3. Eligibility and Accounts

To enrol in a Better Surgery course, you must:

  • Be at least 16 years old

  • Have the legal capacity to enter into a contract

When you purchase a course, a Teachable account is created automatically for you. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure.

Your account and course access are for your personal use only and must not be shared.

4. Course Access and Duration

  • Each course provides access for an initial period of 12 months from the date of enrolment.

  • Access is non-transferable and limited to the individual who purchased the course.

  • Course content is delivered digitally, except where printed materials are provided.

We reserve the right to update or improve course content during the access period to reflect new evidence or feedback.

5. Printed Materials

Some courses may include printed materials (such as booklets) either:

  • As an optional add-on, or

  • Included free as part of the course purchase

Printed materials are:

  • Produced via print-on-demand

  • Delivered within the UK only (at present)

Delivery times and any applicable charges will be provided at checkout.

6. Prices and Payment

All prices are shown at the point of purchase.

Payments are processed securely through third-party payment providers used by Teachable and Wix. Better Surgery does not store card or payment details.

You agree to provide accurate and complete billing information.

7. Refunds and Cancellations
7.1 Digital Courses

Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations, you may request a refund within 14 days of purchase only if you have not accessed the course content.

Once you have accessed the course (including viewing videos or downloading materials), you acknowledge that your right to cancel is waived and no refund will be available.

7.2 Printed Materials

  • You may return printed materials within 14 days of receipt if they are unused and in their original condition.

  • You are responsible for return postage unless the item is faulty.

  • Faulty or damaged items will be replaced or refunded in accordance with your statutory rights.

8. Medical Disclaimer

Better Surgery courses provide general educational information only.

They:

  • Do not constitute medical advice

  • Do not replace consultation with a healthcare professional

  • Should not be used to make clinical decisions

You should always seek advice from your surgeon, anaesthetist, GP or healthcare team regarding your individual care.

You are granted a limited, personal, non-exclusive licence to access the content for your own use during the course access period.

  • Use content for teaching, training or commercial purposes

  • Share content with third parties

without prior written permission.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We do not guarantee any specific health, recovery or clinical outcomes

  • We are not responsible for decisions made based on course content

  • We are not liable for interruptions caused by third-party platforms (e.g. Teachable, Wix, YouTube)

Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant course.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any rights you have under UK consumer law.
